I was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico in December 1951. At the age of five
my parents migrated to NYC and settled in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where
i grew up until I graduated high school. I discovered my love for art
while attending New York City Community College (now called New York
City College of Technology). While there I registered for elective
courses in art history and found that I really enjoyed the classes. I
graduated with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and
transfered to Brooklyn College where I took my first elective drawing
and painting classes. A few years later, after completing the
About
me requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood
Education, I returned to Brooklyn College and completed the requirements
for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. A few years after that I returned
again to Brooklyn College and completed the requirements for a Master of
Fine Arts degree. Since then I have been working independently at my
crafts. Now, thanks to the marvels of modern technology I am able to
share some of my work with you and with others around the world.
The above is just a little background information about how I got into
this profession. Those who know me well know that I am not a horn
tooting type of person. I share stories about my life and my
experiences on an individual basis and this is not a forum for that type
of conversation. Here you can see some of my paintings and my sculpture.
I don't hide the fact that despite my history and education I am still
learning every day. In fact I consider myself a professional student.
The work I do provides me with information about my own growth and the
direction of my progress. The progress, I can tell you, is very slow.
However I do enjoy doing what I do and now I have put it out there for
others to see.
Enjoy the show!
